Third Radiator Necessary?
#2
I don't run a Spec Boxster but run a Cayman S and have about 100 track days. The 3rd radiator is a cheap drop in part. It definitely reduces water and oil temperature. If I lived in Texas I would consider it mandatory.

I run in AZ it is absolutetly req in the hot afternoons. Disclaimer that I run sans fans, idling on grid too long will raise temps, but I'm surprised by how well it works. A cup with essentially the same setup overheats in short order on grid.

^ Matt - nope.
Ran two rads (cleaned diligently every season), one fan removed for better flow, one left in for idle... and a Setrab external oil cooler with fanpack.
After VIR I'm going to add a 3rd radiator. Best guess re. accumulated experience is that the 3rd rad will drop water temps 5-10 degrees. Every bit helps.

i run no fan.
you should do 3rd radiator. #2 bearing as stated and also it's cheap so there is NO reason not to have it.
you should also consider trans/diff cooler. the 4 cars i know that do not have diff cooler each needed 2 trans per season.
