Pretty amazing 32 out of 106 racers were members of the spec Boxster nation. Glad you had fun and good choice to move to SPB from spec996

Regarding the side window issue for open trailers, I made a set of temp windows out of Plexiglas that I slide into place when the car is on the trailer. For more details and photos, check out my post in this thread:

That's very nice. I use a similar setup but mine doesn't fit nearly as tight. Even without it the interior doesn't get all that wet up on the trailer but my biggest worry is that the immobilizer is attached to my cage right under the window so I have to make sure that anything that runs down the Plexiglas runs away from it and the fuse box.

tried out the the crash wrap.... was surprised it worked pretty good... doesn't peel off in the wind.... now it needs the water test... my immobilzer was moved to the frame behind the passenger air bag location.

Sounds like the crash-wrap is a quick and easy solution but I like the plexiglass as a long term solution. For me, there is no rush. I need to cancel my Road Atlanta registration, serious health issue with my father. Maiden voyage will now be an April DE at Sebring. Will also consider Roebling Road.

Ok, did not get to go to Road Atlanta but the next opportunity to drive my new car is April 12-13 at Sebring, Suncoast DE. I am also registered for Roebling, never been there. It doesn't look like the greatest track for low torque but I want to get behind the wheel. So far, I am the only SPB. Guys, I could be stealing first place points!

US44, I would not clean a place on the shelf for that that first place finish, #868 and #41 SPB will be coming and it is our home track.
Look forward to seeing another 986 at the race. Look us up there.
Too bad u did not make RA, god time with 12 SPB but lots of rain.

Mark,
No illusions here. Coming from a 1976 911 and no seat time yet in the Boxster I figure the shelf will be bare for a while. Road Atlanta, rain and all, is still a favorite track. I was unable to go because of family health issues which are ongoing. Hopefully I can get to Sebring next week for the DE and to Roebling Road. For now, I will look for in-car video of RR and will look you up when I get there. Any and all help is appreciated.

I got my first track laps in the new car at a Sebring DE. I LIKE IT!!! I have a lot to learn and lap times I know will come down, but for now, all is good. I do have an issue, noise. I see that Roebling Road has a limit which I exceed. What are you guys doing to reduce the exhaust noise?

Us944. I have run RR with my no muffler SPB. Pulled a 104db. Did what everyone with loud card do at RR. I made a 90 degree bend pipe and slid it over the end of exhaust. It should point to the right. The meter is on left. It was then 102.7.
Do not make it too long or heavy as it will crack the exhaust.
Fasten with self tapping screws.
If u need picture I will email this weekend when I can back home.
See u at RR
Mark
