Who's exhaust should I put on the SPB?
We've got an in house SPB and it came with mufflers on it (probably to meet noise requirements at Lime Rock) but I want to ditch that in favor of straight pipes like all the other SPBs seem to have. Narrowed our choice down to Soul Performance or Tarrett's SPB exhausts. Both look well though out, through the Tarrett has more of a bend in it. I was told to ask here, so I am asking. What say you guys?

I don't like the mufflers that are on it. And you and everyone else has straiight pipes on theirs.

Hey Mark,
For once, I'll agree w/ Hunt... Leave the mufflers alone...
I have the Fabspeed system on my car. While I know PCA doesn't run with sound limits at Summit, SCCA does (and possibly NASA). My car registers consistently 102db at SCCA events and their limit is 103.. I carry turn-downs just in case...
My system is also loud inside the car. Even with ear plugs under my helmet, it gets uncomfortable after a few laps, especially with a bunch of other loud cars around at the start.
I have heard a SPB with full straight pipes and no mufflers. He could not pass sound without lifting, and his ears were ringing after each session..

Im on my second race with the Tarett straight pipes and have no complaints, they bolted right in and everything lined up well. They are definitely as expected VERY loud and if not for my new Stilo with ear cups I would have to use earplugs. I still have my mid-pipe cat delete pipes and Chinese Top Speed/Circuit Werks muffler for DE that makes sound at LRP, I'd guess they're a 20 lb penalty with the factory C pipes attached. I can't say that the car has any more perceived power with with the straights but weight is weight..

When you run straight pipes you are telling everyone you race with exactly what you are doing with your gas pedal. Justsayin.
