Synthetic Rope for Superwinch S7500
Just ordered a Superwinch S7500 for my Featherlite Open and 997.2. I got a great deal on the winch, but it comes with standard steel cable. Can someone recommend a source (and/or provide a link) for a replacement Synthetic Rope?
Per the tech manual, the sizing for a synthetic rope for the S7500 is
5/16" x 55'

I don't see a specific replacement for a synthetic rope but you should give Etrailer a call. They are pretty helpful.

Thanks all. I've seen some reasonably priced one's out there but the 55' length is hard to find. 50' seems standard, then they jump up in length past 55.
Any reason I can't buy slightly longer and shorten with a heat knife (I have one) and shrink tubing?
50' might just miss adding up the 18' trailer, 6' ramp, 5' extension ramp, plus some slack and a few initial windings on the drum.

Purchased mine from Winchline.com. http://www.winchline.com/ They are very knowledgeable, will cut to fit your need and put the ends on for you. Great outfit.

I got the rope for my SuperWinch from Custom Splice: https://customsplice.com
That's like saying what's wrong with a Model T on the track in a race against our cars. It's hard on your hands, stiff, frays, gets kinks and doesn't wind well and a lot of other things. Try a rope and you'll wonder what took you so long to change.
whats wrong with cable ?

If you want a specific length or even a different color than those on offer
That Amsteel Dyneema rope and others are sold at all the sailing/boating suppliers (westmarine, apsltd.com,etc) where you can custom order it down to the foot and have thimbles or eyes spliced in for a nominal fee.
Keep in mind that the wrong knot can cut the load capacity by a huge amount.

Maybe this is a silly question, but I see there are fairleads for synthetic which lack rollers. My winch will have the rollers for the stock steel cable. Will I have to replace the fairlead?

Custom Splice sells aluminum, roller-free fairleads. Unfortunately, nothing that's a direct replacement for a SuoerWinch. It requires a minor fab job. I have yet to replace my steel rollers and see absolutely no issue with the rope (2 years but light use - about 20 in and outs for the car)

Slightly off topic here, but just checked the Superwinch site for some other items and they have a sale on the current model S7500 winch for $225! Not sure how long the deal will last, but this is a pretty good deal for a 7500 pound winch!! Superwinch S7500 sale

Seems like the custom cables from the sites referenced above run in the $150+ range.
Any reason this $65 is no good? It's 5ft short, but I don't need all 55'
Or this which I can shorten?
