White is the new black?
I read an article in a car magazine from a few years ago (2006) about buying a 993. In the article they said what You should expect to pay for a 993 and added "but less if it's white".
Aren't white 993s super cool?! Are white 993s more attractive now than 10-15 years ago? I remember rejecting white 993s when I bought my first 993 but now I find them super cool!
Now it's one of my favourite colours for 993s! Is it just me or have You and the market also changed Your mind about white 993s?

I wouldn't put to much stock in an 11 year old article relating to 993's. The "market" has changed in so many ways. It's MUCH more about condition and provenance today than anything else.

I think it's totally dependant on the buyer. I would never buy a white car, but some people go nuts for them.

Don't understand the reasoning behind this post. Honestly. It's like asking the question why not to use a certain position during sexual intercourse...

White was low on my list when I was searching for the perfect (for me) 993 in 2009-10. In the end I found the right car (mileage, condition, provenance, options etc) and it just happened to be white. With the right accent choices like black wheels and exhaust tips I think the car looks very contemporary now. No regrets.

So then we repeat and explain!
Are white 993s more popular now than say ten years ago? Are people paying more money now than they where prepared to a few years ago for white cars if compared to other colours? There are trends you know!
Like dark brown metallic, huge in the 70s and early 80s, then gone for decades and now popular again!

Interesting discussion - I would actually prefer a white 993 if given the option; but that's just me!

Yes white is rare on 993's . Every third car is silver or black. Just like the 3.2's in the 80's where every third (or second) car was Guards Red.
White looks good on a 993....not so much on an 80's 3.2 or on a 964. These are opinions, of course.
