These look really nice - and reasonably priced to boot! I don’t get why you “don’t support original colors”… ??? At the very least you should have a cross reference of your colors that references the original colors…

I ordered samples last week for some sport seats I want to re-cover, I had a couple questions:
  • Can you emboss the logo in the headrest?
  • Do you have other fabric besides suede/alcantara?
    • I want to go with pepita or wool inserts

We have our own source of leather and our own set of colors. We don't support OEM colors. We always suggest to get samples to match and compare https://ridies.com/Samples

Thanks

1. Yes, we can do that for extra cost. Just let us know what logo are you after and we will quote it for you.
2. Sorry, we don't.

Thanks

Duh… that’s what the website says 🙄 So in other words, they’re not really OEM are they? Too bad…

They are OEM pattern and fitment for the OEM seats.

They recommend you get samples so you can match them to your faded 25 year old example of an interior and thus prevent disappointment.

They sent me a sample card with 30 colors including 5 greys, 3 blacks, a few red and burgundies, and a ton of beiges. They have grades as well as colors, so matching OE vs leather/nappa/synthetic is hardly appropriate, especially when your seats may have had just as many leather type variations out of the factory (leather, full leather, comfort etc), even within a specific color.

Would you mind sharing your seats, if you went with Ridies? They got my sample out much faster than Lseat (still waiting on that to be delivered). I really want to go with a pepita or plaid insert, but might do the door panels only.

I haven’t ordered yet, but from what I have seen I’m planning to use Ridies. I’ve heard mixed things about Lseats for fitment and longevity. Ridies looks like a good balance of price/performance. There are nicer custom options but it’s a big jump.

Maybe you could get just the bottoms and seat surrounds from Ridies and the inserts custom?

Basically they’re saying “you’re on your own” re: color. In other words you pick the color & if it doesn’t look right once you’ve got it on your seats/in the car too bad😏. If there weren’t other companies doing oem colors I’d understand their reticence… but there are, so I don’t… Maybe there,s a licensing fee for the use of Porsche’s colors that they don’t want to pay for… that wouldn’t surprise me…

To be fair, I did order a sample palate and I have Space Grey which has been very difficult to match. I ordered samples from Gahh, Lseat, upholsterysupplyUSA, maybe one or 2 more, as well as Ridies. None of the others, or any of the local upholsterers (supposedly the “best”) could find a match. One of the Ridies colors matches 100% but I’m choosing to go in a different direction (I find the 996 seats are uncomfortable anyway and I’d rather spend my money on a full replacement)

I was lucky to find a set of 997 hardback sport seats painted the color of my car (actually my car is ocean blue and the setbacks are midnight blue but you can’t tell the difference in the car) which are a great upgrade to the stock seats (and they even have the embossed Porsche crests in the headrest). I would imagine you could go with black seats (of which there are plenty to chose from) with the space gray interior and still look right at home. Good luck
