Default Glove box mystery

Can anyone tell me what the slot in the upper right hand corner of the glove box is for? I've seen many pictures of cars with the slot sitting empty. I have a 2008 997 turbo cabriolet. There's nothing in my glove box and I couldn't find anything pertaining to it in my owners manual.

Also the tube style tire pressure gauge fits well.

" I couldn't find anything pertaining to it in my owners manual" you did not try, not even hard enough.

@nalukane and @Hootsama thank you for your for your input. That was helpful.
@Knock1 and @ER17, your inputs were helpful as well and I appreciate the sarcasm. But I clearly said that I missed the info in the owner's manual. No need to be a DICK about it.

You know what ? I agree.
It is fun to be funny IMHO, but "jokes" can fall flat and sound like downright bullying without any indication of "tone"

well they were right though, if you know how to RTFM, start by going straight to the index page ON BACK, look for “glove compartment”, it will direct you to p.92 where the information sits.
