Hi all, recently acquired this 1 owner c4 that has been taken well care of and am pleased the precious owner gave me the opportunity to acquire.
So excited to own this while I am still on the hunt for 993 coupe.
I have noticed a couple bits that seem to be from a 996.2 even though this is a .1 such as the frunk and engine pull levers are actually electronic switches?
Anyways, option codes:CO2 XJ8 X54 X70 X71 X97 X98 X99 236 288 413 424 436 437 438 446 490 513 537 586 601 659 696 936 981 983 999 0991. There may be a number typo, doing my best to read the faded markings
thanks for checking this out everybody!

Whatever you do, dont tint your windows. With the windows down and sunroof back, when people see the interior with the great exterior color, its not just a head-turner, its a neck-breaker! Gorgeous, and really stands out in the sea of silver/gray/black.

Thankfully, I plan on keeping it completely stock and unmodified, just like the first owner did.
I do need to purchase a new set of motor mounts, so would be looking for an OE equivalent.
I would suggest adding a set of Fister mufflers. They will increase your driving enjoyment IMMENSELY! And they arent too loud.
if I could find a used pair for sale, I would because that would be easy to revert back. No way I’m cutting up and welding to do the “gundo mod” unless I had a spare set of factory cans to cut and weld. Good performance bolt on parts are hard to find
@Humble911 Looks like you also have the gauge cluster of the 996.2. This must have been a late cycle .1 build. Interesting to see that. The car looks like it's been very well looked after, which is becoming very hard to find now, so congrats. My suggestion on these...find out when the fuel filter was last replaced and if it hasn't been replaced in the past 10 years, replace it. This is assuming it is truly a .1 and has a fuel filter, as the .2s don't. 9/10 times I find the fuel filters are original on .1s and have never been touched. While not a big deal, it's something to address to ensure your fuel system/injectors are working at their best.

IIRR the option code "X71", that is listed on his above car in his first post, gave a white gauge cluster option on the 2001, 996.1. Mine is black on my 2001 as thats the standard without X71.
Above car has some nice options, wish mine had the X70, stainless steel door door sill guards with the Porsche logo.
The Porsche 996 option code XJ8 refers to a Leather Shift Cover for Tiptronic...? but above car seems to have a 6speed..?

CORRECTION! Now that looked at the code list, it is actually XJB for the silver center console
Please let me know if there are any other pictures you’d like me to share, going to get it up on quickjacks soon to check plugs and bore scope. I haven’t seen these factory stainless exhaust X54 option

so before I went under the car, i checked in the engine bay and the fuel filter looks to be mounted behind the air intake box, driver side. All the DIY notes say under the car
Very nice. I too love that natural brown interior. btw, that second code (XJ8) is actually XJB. That is the option code for your rear center console in artic silver.
