Default Alignment in Tucson AZ

I’ve called around and finding someone to align my 996TT has been impossible. The one shop that would do it wanted $700. Anyone have a recommendation?

Curious, what shop said they can do it ? Is Porsche tucson able to do it? How much did they want ?

Im about to take my cayeenne there for them to put my aftermarket control arms on and align it. Cayenne alignment is 400.00 there.

I didn’t call Porsche Tucson, maybe I should. It was my Indy that quoted me that (don’t want to call them out). They have been great for everything else, including my wife’s Benz. Maybe they just didn’t feel like dealing with a lowered TT on gt3 LCAs and shims.

Porsche Tuc quoted you $400 for alignment only or with labor to install the CA’s? $400 for everything is a great deal, $400 for alignment isn’t bad either.

400 is just alignment. Labor for control arms R&R is 925. Plus taxes amd shop supploes almost 1400 total. Ouch.

i went to do it my self on jack stands yesterday but didnt have the right wrenches and i have a hurt hand and it looks like those bolts are on there good and i have to leave this weekend. They were done by the PO 35k miles ago and already a bushing was worn when i went to get it aligned. So i got the polyurethane bushing control arms from eurowise which were 630 for the pair or so after shipping. I hope they feel good.

Porsche Tucson did me a solid on my trailer module i installed myself last week and were gonna show me the computer self test after i accused them of it not working. Turns out my trailer i tested with had bad wiring and my tester i got off amazon and my icarsoft scanner all acted like there was no trailer module. I plugged into my airstream and lights all worked.

anyway - motorwerks is the cheapest alignmemt i found for cayenne at 250.00 and they did it and said my control arm was bad and wanted 2400 to replace with their control arms. Porsche parts are 950 a piece when i looked. Tucson Autohaus wanted 300 for alignment but didnt want to install my parts but said it was about 2.5 hrs book time. Porsche tucson was happy to install my parts and i just went with them for this job cause they were nice about the trailer and could get right on it today.

Good luck on the 911

Tucson Autohaus quoted me $350 and then said they needed to take the front bumper off and that would be an additional $400. I laughed at them. I totally forgot about Motorwerks, going to call them tomorrow. Thanks!

Cool. Let me know how it goes. They seem like a good place and the mechanic i talked to seemed good. He said he started at porsche Scottsdale a while back and he tried his best with my alignment but it wasnt an improvement.

i hate the way they all send you a big lits of other service to decline.

i got sort of mad at the sales lady there though cause she talked me into getting an alignment instead if waiting when i asked , saying it would be better and drive straighter. But later i read the mechanics notes, see pic, wish i had read that before talking to her , and he said “aligning it before doing control arms not recommended and could make it drive worse” and it does handle worse and still pulls to the right a little so definitely the mechanic was right and it was not worth doing before the control arms.

when i pointed that out and said why did she recommend me still do it when the mechanic recommended waiting she just said “it tracks straighter” and wouldnt give me half off on the next alignment which i though lt

i deserved cause she gave me bad advice conflicting with the mechanics written statement . That was another reason i went with Porsche Tucson time. Ha ha.

Let me know how it goes. So far they have been the cheapest shop ive been to and they seem busy. I bet a 911 is a different animal too. This is my first porsche.

Took the car to Motorwerks and I have to say I’m happy with the results. Was a little more than I wanted to spend but they got the car dialed in. Also had them do the wifeys A service on her Benz.

Thanks for pointing me towards them!

Awesome. You're welcome . Good to hear. So no taking the front bumper off ? 😅 crazy how two different shops can have totally different ideas.

porsche tucson did a good job on my control arms and alignment - drives nice and straight and a little stiffer front end now with the polyurethane bushings. I like it. He said they fought him the whole way and i should be glad i didn’t try to do it my garage.

Nice! I like the stiffer ride even if Tucson roads suck.
