The current debacle is -like the proverbial giraffe what you get when you design by committee.
(Giraffe is a horse designed by committee)
But solution and design by rennlist will get you to equally suboptimal results.
The truth is that these idiots did not think this formula through. Whoever came up with super clipping must be very proud. And so these engines are F$cked for 2026. And even if they change the formula there will be huge financial impact and engines. Teams will have to scramble to build a replacement for 2027. And they will have to adjust the cost cap. (Which - oops! Will hurt some teams more than others)
What a horrible mess
Hate to say it but it was all in the name of “environmental sustainability “ a catch all phrase that placates the low IQ and does nothing in real world terms with 22 cars that circulate.
Funny because it’s had the exact opposite effects. I saw that viewership is down 43% in France and a comparable amount in Spain (no Apple TV variable in those countries)
But the signs were all there if you looked hard enough…

That is awesome. You can tell by Jenson's face that they positioned him just so!
There's too much chaos in the rules. It's hard to enjoy the Grand Prix without thinking about how software controlled energy management and precision pacing by the drivers is determining the outcome rather than actual head to head racing.
Does anybody know how much viewership they lost in the USA?
I've been looking into that as well. Could only find info regarding a drop in European viewership. I'm sure the numbers will come out soon.
Apple cannot be happy if this sentiment is as widespread as I think.
