Default Video or Pictures of brand new 997 RS Purchase Dealership Experience

Does anyone have pictures or video they could share of their brand new 997 RS pickup experience from the dealership?

Kind of curious what the experience was like for all the original owners. As a non-OG owner, I have always wondered how that Porsche experience in 2007-2011 differs from today.

Thanks in advance for satisfying my curiosity!

I have pictures from my car's delivery but I'm not the original owner so no stories. I believe it's Porsche Fremont.

My GT2 prior to pick up back in 2008, there was no handover area for me back then I drove it straight out of the dealer workshop.

Yah I do like that some of the european dealerships seem to put the car in a private area for delivery.

Curious how all the dealership gifts worked as well or if it was just completely random depending on if they had stock.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences.

I have some photos from the first owner of my 997 GT3, but none from the actual delivery, unfortunately.

Here are a couple threads with some new 997 GT3's in them:

https://rennlist.com/forums/997-gt2-...delivered.html

I have a lot of nostalgia of going into the dealer when the 997 was new, not thinking I'd ever be able to own one. So I like when people share photos of when these cars were new so I can relive that.

I have some photos of my car listed with Niello Porsche when new. Had 24 miles at the time and priced $10k below MSRP.

outside of mooty buying and selling dozens of 997 cars… 2008-2010 were lean years, and the cars sat in the showroom. current gt fandom would find ^ hard to believe.

id like to hear if any current owner (besides me) has thought of a factory restore… kind of like the new car buying experience

Yes, I would consider this, but it would need to be in many years from now. I’m talking 10-20 years as I know the factory restoration program is very expensive. Also I would want as much done at once as possible. Having everything done by the book to Porsche standard would be very refreshing.

I’m actually less concerned about getting proper engine/transmission work done as there’s some great shops for that from what I hear. But paint/body/interior is where I get concerned. I just haven’t seen many shops that are up to factory specs for that. Many claim to be and then you see their work and you realize standards across the board are different.
