New 200 TW Hoosier

New 200 TW Hoosier
There's a new tire from Hoosier - TrackAttack Pro. It's a streetable 200TW tire. Looks like an interesting choice for a rain and/or for those of us who drive to the track.
I received a promo e-mail from TrackDayTire.com but apparently Tire Rack will carry them also.
Anyone with any inside info? For the moment I'm on RE71-RS but I am not averse to being a guinea pig (errr......early adopter) for these next season.

what tire are you going to run in the front? based on these there isn't one for us without heavy modification, and at that point one would typically go for a slick.
-edit-
looks like tirerack only displayed a limited portion of the sizes. most won't be available until next year some time and no plans for a 275/40-18 for my rears, or any size for that matter.

Depends on how they stack up against RE71RS's. They gotta not heat cycle out, last similar or hopefully longer, and be priced similar. Hoosiers aren't my favourite dot slick so I'm not sure if they'll be able to compete with those criteria (I found hankook z214s to be faster and last longer than hoosiers, while also being much cheaper)
My biggest beef with 200tw tires is a lot of them you literally are driving on what feels like 30 year old hockey pucks at like 60-70% tread left. I have 8? year old RE71R's (that were left outside for a couple winters too) I just drove on last weekend, and while definitely not as fast as ideal, they still had good grip and were consistent, and I had full confidence in them and still put down ok lap times. I also have cup2s that are from last fall so not even a year old and I drifted every corner on them when I took them to the track and got destroyed in the corners by everything with fresh tires. If bridgestone can make a tire that can be driven on the street randomly for half a decade+, stored like an idiot, and still grips good after all that, why can't michelin, dunlop, or several other guys make a tire that doesn't heat cycle out after 2-4 track days?
All that said, excited for this tire. Good sizing and I think worst case scenario it will just end up being very expensive for similar performance to bridgestones, which still makes them a great choice over a michelin or dunlop for gt cars.

Not for nothing, but Continental owns Hoosier. So I am sure there was some collaboration in this. Have to do a head comparison between the Hoosier Track attack tires and the Conti extreme tires. Just how different are they? Tread patterns? They both seem to be playing in the same 200 tread-wear space.

Excited to see some competition in this space! I run the Goodyear SuperCup 3R on my BMW and they're currently the best in terms of performance and value, especially with the 20% discount when buying direct from Goodyear. If these perform similarly, I hope TrackDayTire or other retailers will have good promo codes for them.
