Default 996 Interior Update

Big thanks to all for all of the interior ideas you guys have posted over the years. I finally finished updating my graphite grey interior with a couple of refresh projects to update the look and further address the sea of grey.

I already had graphite grey GT3 seats, black Heigo half cage, black Rennline aluminum track mats and blue Sabelt racing harnesses, which already broke up the grey, but decided to do the following updates this spring/summer to take it a few steps further.

1. Painted center console seal grey which is the exterior paint color. Wasn't sure if it would work but it does with all the other black parts listed below. Pictures don't do it justice. It looks very good in person.
2. Added black leather center console pads, black leather shifter boot and black leather emergency brake.
3. Replaced the 996 shifter with a 997 shifter w/ FF Shift Right kit since i had the interior apart.
4. Replaced grey horse shoe with DB Carbon horse shoe. I may also add carbon fiber door sills. The carbon fiber does a good job of tying tigether the grey and black.
5. Replaced my old blue Sabelt racing harnesses with black since they expired for track use. Blue didn't work well with all the new black, but black did.

Hope this helps to give some folks with grey interiors a few ideas for your future projects.

Here are some pictures.

Might as well throw in an exterior picture from last month at the track.

If you replace the thin horizontal trim strips with CF pieces it will really look good. My grey interior car has those and it really splits up the passenger side grey.

If you wanted to go further, you could do the door carpeting in black, and then decide how far you want to go from there. I'm currently where you are with black floormats, exterior painted center console, etc. You could consider a bit more pop with coloured regular belts?

All good ideas. I have been chewing on what to do with the doors, as well as the steering wheel and seat belt color. Hoping we have a few creative owners that post a few "new" ideas.

@theprf when you get the chance, can you upload a picture of your interior?

I bought a used 3-spoke for $200 and sent it to Dallas Custom. Sold the old graphite gray one for $200. Kept the bag. No down time.

I love you sliding down that glittery carbon fiber slope! If you get the carbon strips(good idea, literal pain in the butt to swap), get the carbon center console tray and batwing too.
