Default Thoughts on the Sport Response button

Now that my 911 is broken in I tried using the SR button several times, and was a bit underwhelmed. It could definitely be user error, but what has your experience been with SR and how do you get the best out of it for 20 seconds?

Mild cruise to full acceleration was when I used in my base.

Isn't hitting this just like turning the dial to Sport mode?

For me it dropped a gear or two, but nothing exceptional.

If it really does offer an "overboost", why don't the manual 911s have them?

IDK..but the results from that video suggest a quicker car with it pressed, over boost or not. Throttle house raced the 992s against a corvette and also noted an overboost function and a faster 1/4 mile time. Others have said it does nothing, so who knows. This issue has been debated a million times or two over the years and I don’t think there has ever been a quantitative data driven case made, other than some
Dragy times. So it continues until someone can read boost pressures off a non-tuned engine.

It's the on ramp, clover leaf, and passing button. I use it regularly when getting on the highway and merging with traffic. Also when maneuvering through traffic at highway speeds.

Puts the car in the lowest reasonable gear and will hold it to redline. Throttle response is very quick and the suspension tightens. I like the shift programming the best in sport response as well. It's a nice feeling shift.

So yeah, I use it a lot because I bought the entire tachometer and it's one of the best ways to use the entire tachometer.

Have not used the entire speedometer yet.

Think of it as an “easy button” to go from puttering around to full race mode for situations where you are merging onto the highway or passing someone on a two lane road. Try hitting it when you are cruising in Normal/Auto at 60 at low rpm, and you will feel the difference.

I call it the FU button. Cruising on the highway and you decide you should be in front of some knucklehead going 65 in the left lane with light traffic.
Seems effective in light use.

Drops gears, revs the motor up, quick throttle response...a little smile.

I would think the difference would depend on if your in normal mode or sport mode..if you run in sport or sport plus your already half way there.. on my 2017 base going from normal mode you could definitely tell something was happening..

I thought it only worked in Sport+ mode?
