Hey all!
When I purchased my 997.1 it had a muffler delete. After a little while of ownership, I had the engine mounts replaced and the exhaust tips were then basically perfectly aligned (to my eye). It looked like this for about a year - first picture.
Yesterday I had some Fister mufflers installed to reduce some of the noise - honestly hard to live with muffler delete, I wouldn't recommend. I guess it all went well, but when I got the car home I noticed the tips are much lower and honestly I just kind of don't like the way it looks. Is this something that is fixable, or because I put mufflers on maybe it's normal that these are lower? It does look like everything is tight underneath the car but I am no expert.
To my eye, looks like the tips are set in the lowest possible downward angle and a matter of adjustment. Get under there and loosen the bolt that secures the tip to the muffler so you can pivot the outer edge of the tip upward a bit. I think a small change there will make a big difference on that gap.
I replaced them like a year / less than a thousand miles ago so should be good there It was only after adding mufflers (had a muffler delete before) that it looks like they are much lower.
Super simple to adjust, think a 12 or 13mm socket is needed. I was surprised by how much up/down adjustment there was on the tips.
Just adjusted them; I think on the right side I got a little more adjustment, easier, and that to me seems good to go. Other side I had slightly more issue and employed a rubber mallet after loosening the bolt. It does look better but I'm not convinced I'm totally done. Will post pics a little later
