I think sales would be strong if the Taycan was priced more aggressively - I don't think the pricing is competitive - they don't need to lower it much - but it's current pricing is just excessive in my opinion even for Porsche.

For the new Taycans, they have just to create some attractive lease programs and there will be enough people who will lease those but when those leases come back this is were the problems start. There will be huge used Taycan bubble. Market will be soon flooded with tons of Taycans and prices of the used ones are going to go below $40k. I think even there it will be hard to sell those cars.

Hopefully that means they'll pump out more Macan EVs.

I wonder if the Taycan slowdown is part of the overall EV market slowdown, or if it more specific to the Taycan.
I know personally the Taycan is not an attractive option for me at a ~150k price point. At that price, I'd rather have a Lucid Air.

$170k for a 2025 Taycan 4S - Porsche's lost the plot for me personally - I think that car as I've equipped it should be about $135k…it's just not a $170k vehicle.

The problem isn't that it costs $170K today, it's that it will cost you $100K to drive it for a year.

I'm shopping the Lucid and Taycan now...the issue is that the Lucid leases for really cheap. think half what a comparable Taycan would lease for. No one's buying Taycan's at the current prices unless they come with a GT allocation which i have been offered now from 4 dealers. Lease or buy any Taycan and i can get a GT3 or GT4RS allocation included.

You can buy Lucid Air GT 2022 with 2 years still on warranty with 500 mile range/ quicker than the taycan turbo for low 70’s— half off
i know lol I have one in garage with 11K miles
great car. I typically keep my DD for 9 to 12 months. I may be looking to sell. Have my eye on a new Plaid or new turbo.

I think it has more to do with the car market itself and the upcoming Macan ev. To me Porsche has overpriced every car in their lineup now. None of them are worth it to me anymore. In no way should a 911 GTS be approaching 200k

I'm an ICE 718 guy. No problem with EVs for utilitarian transportation but the Taycan has shown that enthusiasts, the Porsche $ premium and EVs don't mix. I predict a modest flop for the Macan EV (overpriced relative to competition) and a huge one for the 718 EV (a fast soulless golf cart). I'd be surprised to see them sell more than a handful of the latter.
I like what they've done with the mild hybrid 992 GTS (except price) and see that powertrain paradigm as the way forward for Porsche. It addresses emissions concerns and the current regulatory environment, has some great innovations (electric motor for turbo eliminating lag) and remains an enthusiast car.

I recognize that the Taycan depreciation is a form of ADM but I'd be willing to take that hit.
