Macan Turbo or GTS?

For some weird reason, the GTS seems better equipped than the Turbos. In fact, all the ones I found were cheaper, and worse equipped. Typically the turbo is the clear top of the line, but not here. I'd go with a GTS with PASM. I was a bit disappointed the '22 CPO I found had PASM (vs SPASM), but it's quite firm already, so I'd suggest PASM for a daily. Mine has the awesome special 21" wheels, but for a daily, you'd probably be better off with 20s. The seats are more comfortable than the '18 Sport Edition, even though they look identical (14 ways), so that was a welcome change. I haven't driven a turbo, but it's not going to ride softer than the GTS, so go with a GTS, especially if you want all the goodies (sport chrono, PSE, etc). Hope this helps.

2022 models have updated engines (2.9L TT), "Turbo" is just removed completely -- no need to 3 levels of V6 offerings I guess.

I considered both. I focused my search on Gen2 (2020-21). They are of course the same engine, but they detune it for the GTS. The ride height is about an inch lower on the GTS, so it handles better. Other than these these two big differences, they are only differentiated by styling differences.
The engine difference is solvable tuning, but that will of course void parts of the drivetrain warranty and also reduces trade value since they can't CPO it after it has been tuned.
Ride height is addressable via programming or lowering links, and my service advisor tells me they wouldn't void the warranty within certain parameters.
I ended up going with a 2020 Turbo because I wanted the extra performance without tuning. I just installed lowering links but I may consider programming once my PIWIS system arrives.I purchased CPO in April of this year.
Most of the Turbos I found were very well equipped. As well or better than the GTS builds I looked at, so I'm not sure what people are talking about there.
I highly recommend driving one with PTV+. It's an awesome feature and easy to overlook.

So for '22, the GTS is top dog? Good to know. I thought it was still the Turbo. Anyway, I have a question for the experts. The 2.9L feels much weaker than I expected. Actually, not any better than the 2.0T Sport Edition. It has 10,500 miles. I'm hoping it will improve due to 2 things: Dealer might have put regular gas on it. And/or previous owner drove it like a grandpa, and the computer will 'learn' how I drive. I don't feel any turbo 'push', like on the other. And the tranny shifts much worse too; it's super clunky going from 2nd to 1st, like it gets confused. Hope it's normal. It drives perfectly fine, but I don't feel like it was a step up in performance, and I was expecting day and night difference, since the other is 252/273 vs 434/406. I'd say it feels like 300/300, compared to the other. In sport mode it up-shifts really quickly. And even in sport+ doesn't feel much better. Hopefully it was just cheap gas. We'll see, I guess. Need to finish the tank, since it was full, and it's about half now. It was just certified, and everything feels good, and no codes or anything. Just a little gutless.

Loving our 2018 GTS. It's actually fun to drive and put it through its paces. Nice driving options - PASM / Air Suspension / 21" wheels. Had the cam cover gaskets replaced so no oil leaks etc...

My guess is it's the lousy throttle response that's throwing you off. If you were local to me I'd let you drive mine with the Pedal Commander installed. It feels perfect with that update. Always delivers power without any convincing from a heavy foot required. Shifts only get rough on occasion when it thinks it needs to downshift from 2->1. It's rare.

It's a '22 GTS CPO with 10.5K miles, fully optioned (sport chrono, PASM, air suspension, full leather interior, 21s, 14 ways, Bose, etc). Haven't driven it much, but hopefully it'll 'learn' to respond better. Even in sport mode, I have to really push the gas pedal deep for the thing to respond. It was certified in St Louis (where I bought it), then shipped to El Paso TX. Haven't driven it much though.

Since you are driving a 2022 GTS, this has equivalent tuning to a Gen2 Turbo. I think you will like it once you get it fully dialed in. Congrats on the purchase!
