hi guys,
I lost the original post when uploading this photo. Here it comes again:

Looking for the best way to mount and charge my iPhone in the 981. In the picture seems like a nice solution but I have the smokers-option so this won’t fit.

what are your solutions? Can you post a picture and maybe a link to the phone mount you are using?

thanks very much!

I shove one of these https://www.shopmoment.com/products/...nt-for-magsafe into the center right vent, angled slightly toward me, with a short charging cable plugged into a charger in the glove box. Sits very flat and the phone fits very securely to it. It has a bit of play in the vent, but I've never had it pop out.

I'd like to get some kind of custom solution that puts the magnet mount between the vents, above the screen, with something to route the cable to prevent it from blocking the screen. Someday.

I installed this in the dealer parking lot before driving my car 12 hours home. Works great.

yes looks neat, but a bulky passenger will hit it with a knee?

I'm 6'3" and 220lbs - Didn't bother me when I was in the passenger seat and my buddy was driving on our way home.

I hVW the same one as @toma nova, mounted in the same spot - it's out of the way, easily visible/reachable. and super secure; I forgot to take my phone off the mount before some AutoX runs and it never budged.

I also use the Rennline adapter on the right side but a magnetic mount isn't robust enough to hold my big-*** iPhone 14ProMax in place while driving with enthusiasm on our great NorCal backroads. I use the Iottie Easy One Touch holder with a USB cable routed behind the trim panels to the glove box's USB outlet. It is out of the way but easily accessible and easy in / out. Holds the phone quite snuggly. I use "Ride With GPS" to provide voice and map navigation for local rally drives and having the phone within easy eyesight but out of the way is game changing.

Happy with my Rennline dash mount. Holds my iPhone 13 Pro w/ MagSafe case well.
You can get it with or without MagSafe charging as well.

found this one:
https://b2prototech.com/products/por...-charger-gen-3
Really nicely printed, but... the company will ship it to Europe but only at the abominal rate of 60euros. shipping rates from the US to Europe have truly gone crazy. In comparison: if i were to ship from Europe to the US, the same package would cost me 6 euro's.

So i guess ill have to design one myself and print it.
This solution in the ashtray seems the best in my opinion.

You’re referring to the Kaizen solution?

https://www.kaizenlighting.com/99198...2011_p_59.html

it’s compatible with or without the smokers option as noted on their website

Fitment: 2011 - 2024 all two door Porsche cars with the ashtray insert in front of the armrest. This will replace the smokers package cubby and standard cubby.”
