Child booster seat with side impact protection in 997
After extensive online research I found a great booster for my 6 year old. It is the Diono Monterey 5. It is a perfectly snug fit in my GTS. I like the side impact body panels and wrap around headrest. My son says it is as comfy as his Clek booster in my other cars. If anyone is looking for a protective seat that fits a 997 well, give it a try. I am also using the seat protector from Porsche underneath the seat.

I don’t have the seat cover part number but I just asked for it at my local dealer’s part counter. I ended up removing it and the leather seat bottom. The booster seat still fits tightly in there. My son now has more headroom. You don’t need the cover if you remove the seat bottom. It’ll also prevent any possible depressions into the leather from the booster seat. Either way the booster will fit.
@Fatsix Going to copy your setup. Do you happen to have the part number or source of the Porsche seat protector?

I'm striving to find a booster and this looks like it could work but how did you anchor the seat? For me, no latch connectors and no top anchor in a cab. Are you just using it solely as a positioner for the seat belt? My son is 42", 40lb (4.3yo). The base of the 5 looks ideal for the 911.

The booster seat can be used with or without the latch anchors. Latch anchors were implemented starting with 991.1. The other option would be just booster seats without any side protection. My son is 51” tall now. In another two years, I think he will be able to sit in the back without the booster seat. The Monterey 5 wedges tightly into the rear. I removed the leather bottom seat from my car as it is not needed with the booster. Let us know what you end up installing.

Thanks for getting back to me. Last question if you don't mind - the only monterey 5 seat I can find online has LATCH attachments poking out the rear (5iST). Do you have the model number of your seat? I think this is the best bet for my needs.

I have the 5iST. Show some pics when you get yours installed.

Thank you for this. We bought the Diono Monterey 2xt and I was shocked to find it will not fit in my GTS. The back of the base is way too wide.
We have had great success with our Britax Marathon and Boulevard seats in the GTS but, he's growing out of them and we need a quality and safe booster seat that will fit the GTS.

I only see the 5iST mentioned above, available now. It looks like it's 13" wide vs the 15" width of the 2XT. Can anyone confirm if this seat will fit a 997.2?

This intermediate 4-6 year age period is challenging in finding compatible seats. Is there even a Porsche version still available that would fit a 997?

You are in luck. He is 3" taller than the minimum height and just made the weight requirement. Diono 5ist is suitable from 40 - 120 lb / 18 - 54 kg (38 - 63” tall / 96 - 160cm).

You are right where I am. Britax Marathon was an excellent choice for me in my GTS cab and I hoped their booster seat with the clicktight system would be compatible - but the base is huge. The Diono 5 seems compatible (and Fatsix also confirmed) as it has a smaller base (check out Amazon image below). My concern stems from my son being younger and smaller (40lbs, 41") and I worry that he's not yet ready for a shoulder belt.

Thank you. I talked to Diono today and they recommended the Everett which is a slim fit design. So, I'm trying to decide between the two.
My son is small for his age. He's a surviving twin. They were born three and a half months early and he had a long fight to survive. He'll be 7 in July and is just starting to break over 40 lbs. and is 44.5" tall.
