991.1 GT3 Latest Motor Updates
Does anyone know what the latest motor updates/revisions are? Based on what I read:
1. DLC coated FF and camshaft
2. Oil filter
3. Oil pressure increase
Breaking in my 4th motor.

Can you tell us the dates you had the motors replaced?

Burning Brakes
Since breaking in the first 3 motors didn't seem to help at all, might as well just beat the crap out of the fourth one and hope it blows again before the warranty expires =)

When were the motors replaced? That will determine what updates your motors had.
Also, any Porsche part comes with a 2 year warranty, regardless of any factory warranty. Theoretically you could have infinite engine warranty if you keep blowing up motors within 2 years of install :P

1st engines replaced because the manufacturing issue (rod bolt)
The replacement engines like to suffer from the problem.
From then they changed parts in the heads (I think it was the finger followers and valve soprings, maybe also the cams) from febraury 2015 and increased oil preasure for all engines via software. Heared ofno engine that failed yet.
From Mid 2015 (MY 2016 = G / RS engines) they introduced a slightly different oil pump, that should not be relevant but also modified the head for better oiling. Interestingly, I heared of one engine that failed.
From Mid 2016 (G6 - the current engine version for GT3 and RS / R) they introduced DLC-coated camshafts. The finger followers are DLC coated from the beginning.
So thats why it would be interesting, when you got your 2nd and 3rd engine.

OP: No judgment here at all (I swear) - are you tracking the car heavily/regularly?

Good question. Approximately 20 hours of HPDE time on 3rd motor. Didn't keep a log on 2nd motor as I was not aware of the finger follower issue. I have over 40,500 miles total on the ODO.
