Thinking about selling my GTS
Anyone here interested before I seek other venues? Thought I would hold on to this one forever but just ticked over 60K miles and never had a car with this kind of mileage. I'm sure it's got another 150K miles in it but I guess it's all about psychology. 60K mile service done including PDK. Near flawless condition and transferable Fidelity Platinum warranty through November 2020. I have no idea what the car is worth but will start the research. I may replace the GT2 bucket seats with another set of Porsche OEM seats depending on circumstances but not a sure thing.

Really?!
You're one of the biggest GTS advocates here. So what would be next? Another, lower mileage GTS? Not sure what you have in mind, that's a great car and not sure I wouldn't change anything except for adding a 3rd pedal. (IMPO)
BTW, how about rear shot? I'm thinking about doing the GTS rear valance black-out on my C2S, but not sure what shade of black or if it really makes any difference on a black car.

I trust you're going to look for another GTS as you said in a different post. Maybe put on a set of OEM wheels before you sell and keep the Forgelines for your next car. I would also keep the GT2 seats and either install them in your next car, or sell them separately to realize full value. Hope you're staying in the family. Best of luck with your decision.

As for the rear shot, don't have one except for one of my long gone -06 C4S (attached). Looks just like the GTS except for the badge, the little cut corner on the rear lights and the valance which as you said doesn't make much difference on a black car.

I had a 30 year old Carrera with just under 100k before my 997. Loved it. It was like new and a true classic, but not practical unless I ran off by myself or put a car seat in the front, leaving a kid and wife at home. (stages of life) What I'm saying is unless it's breaking or no longer suits your needs, you have a top-line car and I would run it in to the ground. Anything else is going to cost you money up front and if newer, just depreciate more.
Thanks for the photo, I was looking specifically for how the lower rear center valance of the GTS is painted black. It makes a visual difference on non-black cars, but not sure what Porsche did with black cars, body color or different shade of black and if it even makes a difference.

I know. Just started thinking when I saw 60,000 on the odometer along with the 2019 calendar. Never had an 8 year old car with 60K miles on it. If I looked at the car and didn't know the age or the mileage it could be two years old with 20K miles on it so it's all in my head. Not sure what's next if I go forward. Maybe a 2010 or 2011 turbo. Or......(hard to get this out since I don't like the 991) there's a 2015 991 GTS nearby with just 8,000 miles that I think I could make somewhat presentable with some mods. Just exploring for the moment.

Step 1 - Buy some small red post it notes
Step 2 - cut a piece off of one with the adhesive part
Step 3 - stick it over the odometer lcd section of the dash
Step 4 - pay Petza914 half of what you saved by not doing something silly

Oh man... don't do it! Ok if you must, but perhaps you can get the 991 GTS before you sell your 997. Then you'd have a chance to see how you feel with both of them. I'm not sure I'd sell my 997 GTS to get a 991 GTS. Over a long period of time the 991.1 GTS will go up in value though so there is always that.

I get it, I think about selling mine every now and then too. But the thing is, for me, there really isn’t anything out there that is as aesthetically pleasing or equally as fun to drive. Even compared to my daughter’s Mazda3, my GTS feels rather analog - but that is the fun thing about it, you actually have to drive it. Anyway, and I am sure you have thought of this, before you sell find something that makes you forget about your GTS. Or at least something that, when you get back into your GTS after test driving it, makes you wish you had the replacement and not the GTS - then the decision is an easy one with little or no regret. Best of luck!

I will reluctantly admit that I had a similar psychological break down as I crossed 100K miles. You'll get past this. Don't do anything stupid in the meantime!!!
I like Pete's idea for the red post it cover. You could write any mileage there that makes you comfortable 8)

Good. GTS is a boat anchor anyway. Just get a Tesla.
