Car & Driver Lightning Lap 2018: GT2 RS sets all time record
Enjoy. The 991.2 GT3 matched the 991.1 RS time. They really liked both cars, and were full of praise for the GT3 engine.

$450k FGT is already easily bested by much less expensive machines and has lowly GT3 nipping at its heels.
Conspicuos by its absence for a second time now if counting the Sutclif/ Evo comparison at Angeisey (beginning to wonder if by PAG design and plan) is the .2 3RS which Fastlaps has doing faster laps then both ZR1 and 720s ...and as to the Performonte at 2 of the 4 tracks listed
PAG conspiracy??? Hmmm.

Kudos to the .2GT2RS! Have you guys watched the in-car videos? Different drivers for some of the cars. Since I own one, I’ll defend the Performante a bit. It was definitely not the best lap that could have been extracted out of the car. The car was driven in Corsa, which it should have been. In Corsa, the Perf. will not upshift when the rev limiter is reached. It will bounce off it. The driver is responsible for paddle shifting the car. That happened at least once during its hot lap and cost the car a lot of time. The lap was not that clean either! The McLaren suffered a bit too from driving. It also has a disadvantage tire wise. Put some comparable tires on it to the RS and ZR1 and watch the results change. The Mac would probably be at least 2nd in the lap times, the Perf not far behind.
This is just goes to show that Car mag comparos are not all they’re cracked up to be. I’m not taking anything from the RS. Phenomenal car! But for better, more realistic results —same driver for all cars under the same or very close test conditions. That was not the case here. With that said, I’d like a copy of each.

No doubt in my mind PAG is controlling what they compare. I agree. They don’t want the .2 3RS there with the 2RS.
To me unless all cars have the same rubber and driver it’s a waste of ink.
My bet is the .23RS is very close. On longer courses like VIR 2RS has an advantage for sure.

The question I have is why both the .1 and the .2 GT3 never made it to motor trends best drivers car. Both! We never get a pobst time for either car at laguna
