The video of the GT3’s lap is interesting. Something annoys the driver at Oak Tree, where he guestures with his hand after tracking out. I’m assuming it’s the big understeer you notice at Oak Tree. Same thing at Hog Pen. Big, ugly, continual understeer through there. Don’t know if it’s a worn tire issue, or that particular editor doesn’t know how to properly get a 911 through a corner with its light front end. In any case, pretty disappointing to watch. Even the 4400 lb M5 gets through those two corners with a more neutral balance (actually a bit of oversteer, maybe from trail braking).

The GT2 RS was a shoe in - perhaps the most interesting result was the 718 GTS (on tires with a UTQG of 300), more so when you run through the Porsche sports cars in the historical results section.

Per C&D, the diff between Cup 2's and Cup 2R's:

Lateral Acceleration: Cup 2: 1.12 g's
Cup 2R: 1.17 g's
70-0 MPH: Cup 2: 144 feet
Cup 2R: 129 feet

That's nuts. I wonder what the usable life is for the Cup 2R's. Who here hates money to find out for the rest of us?

the UV RS test car was crashed at Laguna Seca- mildly. apparently it was mild. But it was there for the lap battle. Some say it was Randy, and that he spun it 3 times that day before the crash. Others say it was the crew messing around...

the Cup 2 R will be sweet for 3 heat cycles or about 90 mins of continual driving (although you'd be out of gas doing 90 straight mins at track)

That's not bad given the pace. After that cliff drop or .5-1.0 sec a heat cycle?
