The 996TT is the best performance Porsche for the money, without question.

But for the same money, who here would rather have this car over a nice 35K mile 997TT?

To me, a "collector 996" is an oxymoron.

I'd take this one over a random 997 any time, unless the 997 was pts in some very special color

Agreed, I wouldn't buy it. But some do really love 996's.

Well, my question wasn't this car vs. a "random" 997. It was this car vs. a nice 35K mile 997TT.

I know which one I'd take. And I think most would take the 997TT too.

Most who love the 996TT, love it because it gives the most bang for the buck. Anyone looking for a Porsche with the most power at the least cost need look no further than the 996TT. Unfortunately this particular car, even if the price is justified given the low miles, takes the bargain part out of the equation.

However, I suspect this particular car may hold value well, if only because almost all 996TTs were driven hard and put away wet, and Porsche deliberately designed them to be used then disposed. I would imagine very very few were bought, held and unused like this car.

Darn it Goof, I hate adding comments in a seller's ad, but that was funny.

Many apologies to the OP. I'll chastise myself now.

Very nice car. It should be preserved, but if you drive it the value will drop very quickly.

That one had a ton of range 1s and quite a few range 2s, and I believe it sat for months on the rooftop, rain or snow.

Thanks for the comments everyone, it truly doesn't get better than this in the 996 Turbo realm!

Here are a few more photos.

Geoff: Were those Turbo Twist Wheels different? I had an 02 Turbo and the Wheels did not look as "sharpe-bladed"?

Yes, the twist wheel was the standard equipment and the 18" Sport Techno was optional.
