Looking to trade or straight sell on my 62 356B S90 Cabriolet for a low mile PTS preferred manual 18-19 GT3, 10-11 GT3 RS, 11-12 Turbo (manual only) This 356 is impeccable, Full numbers and very correct, plenty of additional pics available. Serviced/maintained with open checkbook and needs absolutely nothing, restoration was approx 5 years ago and is in 1- to 2+ condition. Videos, recent pics etc available. Open to writing a sizable check as well for any special modern Porsche’s.

Thank you ! It really looks as good in person and mechanically as well is impeccable, I’m looking to get the tax credit on a trade and being a Chicago resident that adds to a significant dollar amount. On a straight up sale 170.

No matter what the value or year - if the car you buy is from a person (not a dealer), your sales tax is maxed at $1500 on any car bought that is over $30,000.
The tax credit is only applicable to a car bought from a dealership.
One option if you find a GT car you want to buy from a dealer is to sell your 356 on your own privately and have the person just buy it from the dealer (do a "dealer pass through") - the dealership never needs to see the 356. They just take it on trade (on paper) and sell it to the new person (on paper). The person can take delivery from you directly. Title needs to go to the dealer and then signed over to the new buyer.
I think you might know this info already - but, if not, could be helpful (or helpful to someone else reading).
The only issue is when the person buying your car is also from a state where tax is different on a private party car and they don't want to do a pass through because it increases their taxes.

It always seems to work this way, I have had no interest from the community on a possible trade scenario and then end up with two very sweet and viable options as noted above and as fate always seems to work out I completed a deal this week on a trade plus cash deal with a Graham Rahal on a beautiful PTS Sport Classic Grey Touring.
