Walking around my shark after shutting off the motor I noticed a fuel smell from the right rear wheel-well area.
So I tore into it, expecting to find a cracked hose, loose hose-clamp, untight fuel check valve, failed fuel filter or fuel pump, etc.
Nope.
Here's what I found, instead! Gee, thanks prior owners! 5 holes from what looks like a speaker or upholstery installation on the cheap.
Broke out the JB Weld after cleaning the expansion tank. Cold welded the holes shut.
Drove around for an hour. Stopped my shark. No more fuel smell (for now!).
Enjoy the pic.

I did the same thing when i was cutting out some of the steel around the seatbelt mounts. I nicked the fuel expansion tank and had that gas smell when ever i had more than a half of a tank , or if i was racing, it would leak arouund the inside and i had no idea where it was coming from. finally, checked out the expansion tank and there was the cut. Jbweld did the trick.
