I've thought about that too but the more I look at the flags side views on mine, I'm digging them.

Hi again,

I made a couple pics for you. I could have made them instagram fancy but wanted to leave the natural shades so you can see how it looks for real and not create any misdjudgement of yours concerning shades, colors, global appearance, etc.

Disappointed, I was. The day I received the seats, original leather Recaro Pole Positions. Quite pricy. The leather is like a smooth new Audi leather. It's not the kind of leather we had in our cars back in the day. There is a "fake" shade in it, looking a bit greyish, even if it is real one. My guess is they will become better looking when they will have worn a bit. Everything looks too perfect at beginning, making a bizarre contrast to all the other interior elements in our 964s.

Then again, I like them a lot.

If I could give a final advice, don't buy the original Pole Positions when more than 1m85 tall, and not very thin. My guess is the SPG XL would be a better fit for a big person. Now I am 1m87 and 95kg and it's still fine. My back just hurts a bit after 200-300 Kms in it. On trackdays I take the cushions out and sit on the fiber glass to achieve helmet clearance.

PS: the belt receivers will cause some length issues if you don't make according modifications. I took the metal bracket from FVD (on other rennlisters advice) to lenghten the base recaro rail mount. Some other rennlisters just modified the tunnel to put the receiver fix higher.

Hope it will help some.

Sorry to other rennlisters for the "bad" pictures.

Pictures look great. I like the color combo and at least you don't have a factory black interior. I had the same problem when I purchased my set of Sportster CS's. They were some of the first imported to the US so I hadn't had a chance to see how the blacks had changed. The new recaro's use leather from the newer cars. It is more of a gray black as you say. I ended up dying mine with period correct dye for my turbo. I had since removed them and are now in my C2 which is a tan interior.

I have to sit on the shell as well in my track car. It is the only way my wife and i can share the car safely. You don't notice it while driving at speed.

Recognize this??

I wondered what happened to Geoffrey's car after he sold it. I met the current owner today and he is happily driving the car at the Glen.

It has been missed and the current owner got himself one heck of a build for a very reasonable price.

^^^^^^^
I was wondering too! Epic build. My favorite behind Mr. Linton's masterpiece. I've been meaning to go back into that thread and revisit some of the details. I remember Geoff designed an in-car front roll bar adjustment lever! Details everywhere, and everything done right!

You know it was a great track event when the car comes home in one piece but covered in rubber.
