stuck clutch pedal 1980 911 SC

Hi Ivan,
Thanks again.
I got the cluster pulled, zero rust. I am going to take it apart and replace the bushes. Appears to be very solid and operates as it should. I hope this isn't extremely difficult to rebuild, that spring looks tough. Where is the pin? left side from the picture I am viewing. I also found the black rubber bit underneath. about 1 1/4' inches, couple of edges and rounded on one side.
Let me work on it. !
picture attached.
Thanks again.

hi..yes it is very tough spring..the best to remove it load it up and put in between metal nut 13mm wrench 2-3 or so, the spring will be expanded and later easy to install .the rubber is your clutch stop so you do not press the pedal too far and you do not overextend the to bearing on the pressure plate.
The pin is on left side on the clutch pedal. The best to work on it is.Put some nut on the bottom 13mm and put it ina wise...
One more thing when removing the engine and transmission together.Place the round piece of the jack right next to the crossover exhaust pipe. This is the best place and it is dead on center for balancing and removing both things. No need any other jack or so..done that like this over 30 years;-)

thanks again Ivan.
So this rubber piece I found seemed like it was under the cluster. I don't see where this piece goes. The rubber stop for the clutch is in the correct spot which is much smaller than what I found. Could you provide a photo for this larger rubber piece.
Thanks
Randy

It is part of the stop mechanism.....If it's function were to strictly stop the pedal the entire stopper would be made of metal....it's not. You gotta think like a German that thinks he is selling a luxury vehicle.

Can I just say that this thread is exactly what Rennlist is all about.!!! You guys, from all around the world, even Canadia, helping out a total stranger. It really does warm my heart. There is a touch of pride in my soul and a twinkle in my eye when I look at this thread. The news you delivered here sucks, but it's better that the majority of the diagnostics were done for free here, than at $100/hour at a shop.

AG, I agree, simply amazing.
I know enough to be dangerous but these guys set me in a straight line.
Ok so the rubber stop wasn't even on the wood carpet panel. Wow what a difference this will make!! . I have no idea since I've never had it on, like I said it was below the pedal cluster.

I think AG meant my news is not great. I was hoping for a busted cable or cluster pin, instead we are still working to source my issues, not good news, it sucks. But with all this help I will make it through!
