Default knock-off front lip install

So my front lip was delivered and along with having to drill holes for the 2 attaching screws, it also seems to just have "indents" instead of the square-ish mounting hole tabs cut out in the original. At $75 shipped vs the original, I have no complaints and expected to do some mods to get it to fit, but just wanted to know if anyone else has installed one of these without cutting those squares out. In other words do the "indentations" do the job. Any advice appreciated, thanks.

That's exactly how mine is, drilled the two holes out and installed, haven't had a problem yet. Slip it on and see how it fits before you cut all the indentations out.

All I did was drill the 2 holes for the screws on the ends (actually, I'm not sure I even bothered to drill, as the screws are screws).

Yeah, more about alignment than anything else. Cheers

Really??
Who did you buy from? Just post the link. Also, to help make it fit better I put mine out on the drive way for about an hour in direct sunlight about 95 degree weather. It helps to have it warmed up.

I'll try the direct sunlight thing, might help. I also emailed the seller and didnt want to post anything until I gave them a chance to respond.
Thanks for your suggestion.

Mine was definitely a super tight fit and I had to manhandle it a bit.

About 1/4" in my case.

It was ridiculously hard work to stretch it enough to get it to fit, but it was 65 when I was doing it rather than 95.

Thanks folks, leaving it outside in the sun for an hour expanded it from .5" too short to .25" too short, then it was all leveraging and spit. Its on though

Because of all the forces the lip is exposed to it has to be a tight fit. Good work.
