Feel free to swing by the showroom after you've taken delivery. We're down the street and would love to see it in person as well as show you some of the Porsche projects we're currently working on

Hello, My 6th Porsche arrived this morning aboard the Cepheus Leader at Long Beach, CA but will be off-loaded in San Diego, June 10. I sold my beloved 2006, 997 C4S Cabriolet MT asking myself, “Why!?” the whole time. She was not babied but well cared for. Eleven years was long enough but parting was very sweet sorrow. Sold to a dealer for over high blue book and I’ve now been “Porscheless” for about two weeks. I’m **** about my car care and do it myself. Been a Porsche guy all my life and owner since 1983. Still learning. Here is the new ride on paper:

9Elovin- Beautiful spec. Also nice outgoing 997. I have GTS 4 on order as well. Can I ask why you chose AWD living in LA (presuming this from your avatar)?

Hi Mike,

I'll guess Boulder, CO...? I first had AWD on my 1997, 993 C4S. While researching whether to get AWD, I was told by the mechanics to consider it an $8,000 insurance policy. In other words, the system will save you from your mistakes and other people's mistakes. I tracked that car a few times a year and the professionals who occasionally drove it at the time told me it was the best handling car they had ever experienced. I'm sure I was not good enough to know. Southern California has some terrific roads. But if you're coming around a corner and you have to make an emergency correction, the all-wheel-drive system will save you. I guess I've gotten used to it and been spoiled by it. I've also driven a manuel all my life and for the first time will get the PDK. The salesman had me test drive one for over an hour to convince me and he was successful. I guess I'm trying to embrace the technology. I will look forward to seeing your GTS 4. Good luck with your purchase.

Hi Greg,
Yep. Boulder. I'm an AWD guy as well. I do a lot of driving at high altitudes and feel the AWD is necessary for me. Will post pics of my car when it arrives (supposed to be in next two weeks). Looking forward for to seeing pcs of yours as well. Regarding PDK I had that in my last car and loved it. But I decided to do manual in the .2 for change of pace (as I was also a long-time manual guy). The PDK is nice and felt myself using paddles almost exclusively when driving alone. When I had someone in the car it seemed weird so usually stayed in normal mode.

Ok back to waiting!

It all depends where you live and even in good weather, I have always felt more confident with awd. I used to drive an Audi S4, with its Quattro system, and never felt worried. My current M5, with close to 600hp, can get a little hairy on back roads. With that said, with modern day traction control, I worry less and less every day.

I'm currently waiting for my '18 C2S to arrive. Originally considered a C4S for its wider body, but I would much rather spend the money on options than the added cost of the 4. Considered the GTS, but didn't need the added power or care so much for Alcantara.

My PTS Targa GTS arrived at the dealer today. About five hours after it came off the truck I drove it off the lot. Floored by the CXX work. Pricey but all done perfectly. Here's some pics:

Man, those seats look great! I wish they were a standard option. Congrats on a really nicely specced car.
