"Weissach

Hr. Teugler (Tergler?)

Who are you Hr. Teugler?"

Don't think its Teugler or Tergler... Its likely a reference to Edgar Tengler who was on the 901/911 team prior and a senior development figure back then.

He's in this pic: https://en.wheelsage.org/porsche/911...ctures/ncddn0/

Good call newcollector! That is the first confirmed match to a name inside of the company, and one more bit I can chase at the factory.

COOL! Hope you can now get them to open up with more details.
He's also referenced as part of the 914 Rally R&D Team. (see screen-grab from book).
I'm guessing he was a speciality lead within the senior development team. Perhaps chassis / body?

Droo,

I am friends and fellow country club member with Fred Schwab (President and CEO of PCNA from 1992-2003). I'll give him a ring if you provide a list of specific questions for him to forward to the appropriate corporate staff.

Default Hr. Tengler

As a teaser (to me and everyone else) is the note scrawled in large handwriting on top of the headliner board. This note was written in the same pink crayon and handwriting as other notations found inside of interior panels, faded and difficult to capture in a photograph but photoshop brings it to life:

Weissach
Pass on to
Hr. Teugler (Tergler?)

Who are you Hr. Teugler?

================

My German friends read the name as Hr. Tengler. The "n" in Weiterleitu-n-g” corresponds to the "n" in Tenger.

Another friend knows of Edgar Tengler, who has been identified. More to come.

While digging around in the holes the web leads me into I found a few new (to me) pics of S-CX 2132 at the press launch in france, March 1977. Photos by Karl Ludvigsen

Sooooo - Droo,

What up with numero UNO?

You've come a long way, and with your tenacity and attention to detail, you'll probably have this car in spectacular condition for all of us to admire (drool bibs required) in no time.

BTW, Congratulations!

Care for another creative match of Bocce Ball in the garage?

Thanks GT R for the kind words. Not barreling into restoration at this point, as anyone who saw it at PVGP can attest to the car is "functional" "stabilized" "complete" and "preserved wherever possible" and as such is perfect for occasional use. More attention is going into research of #1 during its time at Porsche (1977-1979) which is proceeding along with the help of a few very generous and well connected individuals. Thanks, you know who you are.

As far a garage bocce I no longer have time for those shenanigans...its lawn bocce these days.

Some interesting fuel tank bits for #1. Note smooth barrel steel sleeve threaded insert for tank strainer. Strainer is hand soldered stainless screen over steel barrel with holes in it. I found these same parts in car#24 as well. Tank manufacture is 1976.

So what's the plan there? Run a newer type strainer and keep the original on the shelf?
