991.2 Track Mods...Who's Experienced?

I'm currently in Birmingham at BMP. I read all the thread comments above and decided to weigh in on two things, Giro Disc, and tires. First, I upgraded to GD front rotors after my oem one's started cracking after 4-5 DEs. And stock pads. The GR rotors need more pad than OEM. I'm running the PS-29 (recommended from GD) yellows and in fast run group they are very good. The oem pads will leave pad residue that has to be cleaned off if you are running hot. Ask me how I know. I don't have GD rotors in back yet but plan to when needed. They are definitely better for the track, but very noisy off with the yellow pads. After track season I will put oem pads back on. About tires, I had MPSS and PZero tires for the track and both were ok until they got hot, then they were greasy. Started with 30F/33R pressures and typically come off the 20-25 min session at 39/44! I am currently running on new Conti Extreme Sport Plus tires. After a hot day and 5 sessions, I really like them. No where near as greasy when hot! No "chunking" so far either. They were a bit noisy the first 200-300 miles on the highway. Hope this helps. Nice GTS 991.2 BTW. Enjoy in good health.

Thanks Rob...BMP is one of my fav tracks. I was looking at the Giro discs for my GTS...probably overall cheaper as for some reason the 2017+ GTS front stock rotors are now $950 for a front set!
I'm trying to decide on either HRE or OZ Flow Form/HLT wheels or go forged HRE or Forgeline wheels.
I plan on getting studs installed on the uprights to make pad changes easier and lower, control arms for at least -2 degrees up front

It is now my favorite track too. I could never get below 1:50 but had a blast trying. Tires and brakes were not the issue, they performed flawlessly. Actually had to be lighter on the pedal for longer durations or I would routinely get to threshold braking or even abs. The tires never disappointed me, will get at least 2 DEs and maybe 3 out of them. Drove 5 (hard) sessions Saturday and 6 on Sunday. 3 of the 11 were 25 minute, 7 were 20 min, one was 35 min! PS-29 pads and GD rotors are as smooth today as when I left for the track. Quick Q, anyone using Castro React SRF Racing brake fluid? Came highly recommended from the E30 racing guys. TIA. Nice report Rob...I drive Sebring, Homestead, Daytona (PASM acts up on the NASCAR high banks though) and Barber.
I want to get instruction and drive Road Atlanta.
I've done Barber 6 times. Last time I was there was in my 997.2 2012 GTS. I ran Nitto NT01 245/305 18" back then. My Race Keeper had me lapping 1:40-43 I believe I have video on my YouTube channel. If the car had stock tires, Pirelli P Zero it's probably be around 1:45-47.
Can't wait to go back in my 991 GTS. The torque in the 991.2 GTS is so much greater than my 997.2 GTS that I feel if I drive well enough and use the Sport Cup 2 tires the car at a track like Barber should be doing around 1:38/39... pro driver probably 1:36-37.....we will see! That's the fun of it all.

No 18s on the 991.2. I run 19" Toyo R888R they work great! On the older 888s i was getting 5 - 6 events from one set. Also have been running Pagid Yellow all around (just switched to PFC fronts happy so far) and SRF fluid, a slight track alignment and DSC suspension controller.

BGB has a lot of experience and they are in your area. Suggest to talk with them .

I run the Elephant racing lower control arms. They recently have started making some noises. Waiting for response from elephant. Have had them almost a year.
I just installed full tractive coilovers, and now I have the top hats have increased front camber to -3.2.
I also have the rear lower control arm by elephant racing. and some spherical bearings.
I ran Pagid Yellow RSL29 on front. Great on the track, squealed like a banshee on the street.
I have since gone to a Brembo GTS BBK 380 fronta and rear. The FM1000 (Street Pads) 50% wear front one track day and 10% rear. So rear is cooling much nicer now.
I have ordered Endless ME20 for front, (These work epic on my M4) and MX72 for rear. (Silent on the street) ME20 are a track pad that only squeals a little on the street. Its livable, not like RSL29's.
I run TrofeoR at present, they are worlds better than MPSC2, which I split a sidewall. Its so soft they are floppy. They are not the track tyre they make out. In fact for Track guys, I would consider the MPSC2 the ultimate street tyre for track guys LOL.
I want to get track wheels next and run AR-1. I can get 3 sets of those for the cost of one set of trofeoR. Then run TrofeoR or Cup2-R on the street.

Im in process of developing my 991.2 T as AX and track car. Im getting forged one piece wheels from Jongbloed Racing in 19" that will clear RWS. As an FYI Nangkang AR1 is a great and affordable tire that fits 20" wheels in sizes we need. I m a bit of nut so the AR1s will be my street tires on 20 inch wheels while 19s will have Hoosier A7s. If Hoosier made a A7 in 20 inch size that would work on our cars I probably would have stuck with 20 inch wheels. I have front gt3 control arms from Elephant and have Tractive coilovers with camber plates on order to address camber requirements. As an FYI most spherical bearings aren't going to last very long on street cars. Usually several thousand miles before they wear out. I don't have issue with replacing bearings but if you want trouble free. Best to go with OEM GT3 control arms - they will last longer with no bearing issues.

Thats awesome. What spring rate did you go with?

So in my speak you have about 60/130. That's a nice up grade compared to a stock GT3 that is 45/120. Very streetable.
