Default Rocker Panel Trim Delete

Just curious to know what an SC would look like without the Trim Cover and Molding. Are there a ton of holes left behind under the door after doing the delete, and if so, is that kind of body work costly?

Thanks,
-Cam

Mine is a G-50 but it can't be that different. there is a hole that is about an inch in diameter and several little screw size holes. The really big difference is the G-50 spring plate dropout door that has bolts on either side. There is also an antitheft VIN plate on either side. I think they look great without the rockers.

A few shots of mine

Personally I think it looks unfinished and untidy. You would definitely need bodywork to clean it up

why not just take one of yours off and see if you like it? You said SC, the car pictured is a G-50 Carrera, which actually looks a little different as the torsion bar hole is larger and of a different shape and gives, as someone mentioned, an unfinished look.

The SC is cleaner as the torsion bar hole is completely round and has a seal. so the only thing you're left with is the few small holes along the out rocker where the mounting screws were.

Unfinished is the entire point....The car is 400 pounds lighter than it was before. Before it was a tub-o-lard....now it's in race trim. Before it was a girls car, now it's a gentleman racer. It will smoke almost every car on the board.....almost every..

Don't forget that you've got oil lines under the right rocker and A/C lines under the left rocker if you have A/C

I like the clean lines of Jonny's (retrofit) SC, however the way you have done it suits the rest of your car.

I took them off my SC when I was redoing my rear suspension and haven't put them back on. The car looks cleaner without them, I think, so long as you actually clean up the bottom and maybe replace the long oil cooler line screws with shorter ones so they don't stick out so much. Now I think the rocker panels look too bulky and stand out a ton.

Like the above, they did a really nice job with it, and it looks waaay better than stock IMO.

Yes the one above looks absolutely clean and finished. Doug that's why I said my personal opinion. To each his own.
I have all kinds of people dis me because 90% of the time I run with CUP 1s and leave the Fuchs in the garage. Doesn't bother me in the slightest as its my car and I want to run it the way I want to .

Sorry I didn't start responding earlier, Gents...

I'm going to pop them off this week, see how I like the look. I know that I do like the curvature of the rocker panels better without the trim on (almost like a Pre-A 356). However, if I find that there is too much going on underneath the trim, I may just keep it on.

It must all follow the look that I'm going for in the first chapter of my owner ship. Thanks for all the responses guys, BEAUTIFUL cars all around.

one thing for sure , with the covers off I would think it is less likely some bone head will crush them on a lift, especially with nicely polished ones.
