Well, the 'typical' flipper is basically an unlicensed used car dealer. It's not so much a "time" factor, as a what they do when they buy and sell.
They buy with the intent to sell, and sell quickly. They usually don't transfer the title into their own name, they give the title to the buyer with the previous owner's name still on it. So there's no legal proof that they ever owned the car.
They often buy and sell more cars than are legally allowed for someone without a dealer's license (which they get around by not legally 'owning' the car).
Technically illegal (tax evasion is one crime, there are others that are more in the "technicality" category).
In places like California, where there are legal requirements & obligation on the sellers, the flipper evades those by never legally "owning" the car. This leaves the buyer with limited options if the car has problems.
I don't know exactly where the line between a "flipper" and a "Buy it fix it up and sell it" like Dave Z is.
But I really wouldn't consider him a flipper.

I looked at this car last week, the paint is in very good shape. It will need all the usually stuff under the hood and some interior work as shown in the pics. But good bones.

This looks like it's not far from being a really nice OB. Front seats look brand new. Hard to tell but the radio looks period if not original. Runs and drives. Price is nice. Bet this doesn't last long.

In other news, this is my final OBO price on my car, I dropped it $500 but I'm open to offers. Just got a house so I hate to say it some cash couldn't hurt, but it's not a must. https://phoenix.craigslist.org/evl/cto/6073357920.html

After a lot of discussion/debate I have decided to put my '87 S4 up for sale on the Bring a Trailer auction site.
I have enjoyed this car immensely just as I have enjoyed my association with RL and it's members. I have been fortunate enough to have continuously owned at least one of these fine automobiles for 25 years, but it's time to move on. There are so many people in this forum that I'd like to thank for providing assistance and encouragement with troubleshooting problems and with making repairs - the easiest way is for me to say: "Thank you all for your years of knowledge and support". I'm not sure what the future holds for me car-wise, but if I listen to my wife, a Cayenne GTS or the Cayenne Hybrid will likely be the future.

It's been an absolutely fantastic run!
