Default Just found the storage compartment underarm rest.

I thought I had broken my new (to me) car yesterday... I hooked my arm on the door panel as I got out and pulled loose the arm rest... well actually, it just opened. I'd been driving this car all winter and had never seen this. Unknown to me, this '99 Cab was fitted with "special" storage compartments from the factory; certainly a rare find!

Interestingly, retained in this fantasticly stealth compartment was: Cash, weed, an old pistol holster, a wrapped condom, various room receipts and the lugnut lock key that I'd been looking for!

Yes, I did in fact drill and "easy-out" the left front wheel lock when I was stuck with a flat tire earlier last month. And yes, I was the one that had the local dealer out in a hailstorm as we went thru their wheel lock key kit to unlock the other three. Famously; Yes, this is the same "one owner" car that was driven by a conservative old guy; only on Sundays... to church services... just as the ad had said.

I wonder if I'm the only one who has these nifty 996-stealth-elbowpad-factory-hidden-special-storage-bins? What luck!

Ready to have your mind blown? Open the front hood...you'll be shocked to hear someone has misplaced the engine and left a fairly significant hole where it should be!

Had my '01 C2 for two months before I discovered the pockets cuz I didn't have a manual. One day I "discovered" the areas and in the right side door was - voila - the full owner's manual pouch. No cash, weed or prophylactics though....

Somehow I guess you should not be surprised...maybe the Sunday drive entailed just a bit more then just a churchvisit... if any....

Most importantly.... was the weed still potent?

I bought a '72 Benz 280 SE 4.5 back when I had just finished college in the early 90's. Car had been parked under a tree on a farm near Tallahassee for years. My younger brother happened to be visiting me for an extended period of time when that went down and was there to help with the first big clean up on the car. Knowing where the car came from, he even said.... "I bet we find some weed in here someplace...."

Sure enough, behind a piece of loose carpet in the driver's side footwell I found an old cigarette pack wrapper with a fair amount of weed wrapped up inside. I had almost sucked it into the vacuum hose.

Fun brother bonding moment that we still laugh about...

Further mind blowing: There is a coat hook on the back of the seat.

I had my car for 2 years before I realized the cup holder could be pulled out further to reveal a second, larger cup holder. There's a thread here on all the cool stuff we "discover" - eventually.
