Default What are these BBS wheels worth?

I have a set of BBS 2-piece wheels that were on my '86 944 when I purchased it. I have switched to another set of wheels and no longer have a use for these. I have asked a few local guys what they were and how much they are worth but they all just want to buy them off me and won't give me any solid information. The only information I know is that they are 16" wheels and the centers are made of magnesium. They are in good shape other than the paint needing to be redone, and there isn't any stress cracks in the magnesium. The car was raced from the late 90's to '03. Any information would be appreciated, thank you.

Selling with tires, with or without center caps? Right offset no spacers or anything needed? Are they staggered? Any pics of them on car?

Yes they come with the tires which are Toyo Proxes with a few hundred miles on them and I do not have center caps. They bolt right up to the car without any sort of spacer and yes they are staggered. This is the only decent picture I have of them on the car...

Those are E26 cast magnesium centers, 20 bolt motorsport wheels. They are 3 piece, with an inner and outer rim half and a seal in between. They can be built using 16 or 17" rims. Depending on part number of the center, the depth of the center may require longer wheel studs. The part number is stamped on the face. The cast mag is prone to cracking, especially with age and use. So price/value is extremely dependent on condition.

Thank you! That's the kind of info I have been searching for. I looked over the wheels very carefully and can't see any sort of cracks but I know magnesium can be tricky. If these in fact do have no cracks, what is a fair price to sell these for with the good tires on them?

The e26 crack more than any other magnesium BBS wheel. They were one of the last magnesium centers made (90s) before they switched over to aluminum. They should be x rayed

Correct.

For what its worth, the E26 has been discontinued - BBS does not make them anymore and they will steer you to either the replacement forged/machined aluminum E87 centers, or the older basket weave style cast magnesium E50 centers, which they still do make. There is a reason for that, and I have a box of cracked E26 centers in my basement to show it. I will retire the last set I have running soon, and would not recommend these to anyone for track use.
