Beautiful car, Brian! That color combo is probably my favorite for the early cars and this one appears to be in great shape. You may recall one similar at 3rd Coast, it was solid Cork - no pascha.
I need to make a road trip and come see your collection. Congrats and enjoy this new addition!
Wow, great find and story! I love that color too.
Now, get the correct intake air tubes (reproductions) from Jim D. and that will make that engine bay look more original.
Ed, I'm interested to learn what intake air tubes are not correct in this 928. Also, what kind of reproduction intake tubes are available?

Jerry, the '78-'79 cars did not have the 'venturi' narrowing and were basically a tube 80mm start to finish. Also cardboard lined so most are deteriorated. Jim Doerr has found a replacement that is very correct and I believe still has them available.

Yes, what Alex said. I'll try to post a picture of Jim's replacements this weekend. They are quite good, and nearly indistinguishable from the originals.
Thanks everyone for the positive comments. I feel extremely lucky and blessed. Here is a pic of me on the left along with the previous owner in the middle and the shop owner on the right.

Cheshire Cat comes to mind!!!!
Brilliant photo, you look exactly how I feel every night, when I "pop" my head in my garage just prior to turning in.
