I would be very interested to hear what you find out. I have been thinking about a deep sump pan, perhaps the 2L pan is the way to go?

Also, I agree with you on the accusump, it would be great if a deeper pan could remedy the issue without going to a more complicated system.

The MantisSport 2L deep sump is the better of the 2 options, not only because it holds 0.8L more capacity, but because it also has a windage tray that prevents the crank from frothing the oil. OEM pan baffle is trimmed, then reinstalled to the windage tray so you get both benefits with this MantisSport option. I have the 2L version in my car with the LN Engineering Stainless Skid Plate below it to protect from any on-road imediments since it hangs down lower. Fumoto quick drain valve in these pictures is no longer installed - replaced by the LN Magnetic drain plug. Though it made for fast and easy oil changes, with the deep sump it just sits too low and sticks out too far for my comfort level.

The 1.2 also has the windage tray. My understanding is that they are exactly the same other than the capacity.

Checked the site and it looks like you're correct. Thanks for the clarification and good to know that both products have the same design and just different capacities.

Any resolution? I have been considering ordering a pan but waiting to hear what you learned.

I just now saw this post! I’d love to check it out, can you shoot me a private message? It looks like you have messaging turned off.

Wow, kinda forgot about this thread.
in the end, I decided that I was just asking more of the car than it was designed to deliver long term. It's been relegated to mountain runs and a 997.2 GT3 was added to the stable to eliminate any oil starvation concerns. My C2S is a great car and in remarkable shape for a car it's age with 106k miles. It looks and drives great. I can't bring myself to sell it.
