Default Time to say good bye and thank you...

So, the day has almost come where it's time for me to say good bye to my beloved 02.2002 996 C4S which has given me so much joy over the past 4 years of ownership. Yes, I have had some worries and partly sleepless nights but in the end the enjoyment sitting behind the steering wheel on my Sunday drives in the Alps weighed up for it.

What can I say other than what a great introduction to Porsche 911 ownership. I'm for sure going to miss her and would defo recommend a 996 as the first P car.

So, this is not going to be the end of my 911 ownership as I'm moving on to the 997 gen 2 and still staying true to the C4S line...

Thank you all for your input and especially help just as I was buying my first 911 back at the beginning of 2013.

Are you really sure you want to sleep on a 997 mattress? They are so soft. The 996 mattress is like a good firm army cot.

They still let you hang out in here you know. The 997 guys are a different breed. Mostly questions about detailing (who knows a good shop?) and "Where exactly is my engine?" questions...

I envy them ! I just wish I could work my way down the priority list to such frivolities :-)

It's a lot more interesting here with the 'have a go" crowd that 996ers are
necessity is the mother of invention i suppose.

Congrats on the move...997.2 C4S is a good move. Its a perfect everyday car. Love mine and Frankly very little to complain about. As far as 996 vs 997 crowd, I enjoy both and learn a lot.

Good choice for your next 911. I've put 56K miles on my 2010 C4S during my 30 months of stewardship. You're in for a great ride.
