Default Plate relocation kit, suggestions for 2015+

Could anyone please suggest a front license plate relocation kit?

I have no plate mount right now and would love to find something that I can install where I don't need to mount the factory mount on the front.

I think someone makes a mount for the tow hook location. I just keep mine in the glovebox.

We have had issues with the tow hook plate mounts. Design intent is to be able to unscrew the assembly for removal. With the protruding nose Cayenne's have it is not possible to unscrew the assembly - it must be completely disassembled. We are having a mount made for our bush bar.

I use http://www.usmillworks.com for more than 1 year and have had 0 issues. I can remove just the plate or the entire assembly.

Unscrewing the entire usmillworks assembly did not work on our 2013 CD without contacting and damaging the paint. Our dealer agreed and accepted it back as a return to stock. Only way we were able to remove the usmillworks was to disassemble all the bits and pieces.

Thank you one million times over itsboz. I just ordered the white, lightened, quick release.

My CD does not have a front plate mount installed right now and the last thing I want to do is to have to put holes in the front to install one. I have it, I just don't want it installed.

I got the 958.2 2015+ for my 2016. Thanks again, I truly appreciate the pic and the link.

What does that do to your front parking sensors?

Axle mower company make an alum one that screws into the tow hook. Theirs has numerous mounting holes so you can position it so as not to interfere with the sensors. Have their plate holder on my Cayenne, no issues. Besides Larry the owner is a nice guy

The kit has the rod that screws into the tow eye hole and has a head that swivels and can then be locked into place. In addition, one can mount the plate holder in a way so as to clear any of the parking sensors.

See itsboz's picture, the parking sensor is to the right of the plate=no problem.

I'm going to install my plate just like itsboz'.

The US Mill kit fits perfectly in-between the front sensors on my '17 GTS.

The optional, removable mount is worth getting as it makes it easier to both install the plate and remove/replace it for car washing.

One note, if you have an EZ-Pass or other license plate-attached transponder you'll need longer bolts. They're 1/4"-20 threaded (imperial, on a metric-based vehicle, smh). A regular license plate frame would fit just fine with the supplied bolts.

I went with some torx tamper-proof kind, to at least slow down casual theft.

The slightly-offset position has not caused any issues with toll detection of the sensor, nor any undue attention from the local constabulary.

Default U S Mill Works

I've had mine for 2 years. It's mounted evenly between the front right bumper sensors and doesn't interfere with their function. No problems.

Don't understand the need for these. Double sided 3M auto trim tape. Allows you to position almost anywhere, easily reversible, easily removed, costs next to nothing. And ultra low profile.

Are you talking double sided tape, for either the license plate or the license plate mount?, directly to the front-end?

Never mind "Needs Decaf", start cutting your pills in half. Taping the license plate to the front, now that is a good one.

I am talking about taping it directly to the front end. What's wrong with it? Ever seen how they mount plates for European delivery? I didn't invent the idea, both BMW and Porsche mount the temp plates with trim tape.

In case you are worried, 3M double sided trim tape is an OEM product used to adhere trim strips and such on cars. It is totally weather resistant and safe for the paint. Just this morning, I took the plate off my Lexus for the lease return. Plate has been on 3 years and has not moved a millimeter.

Pros:
no drilling of bumper.
Can mount plate as you choose; left, right, up, down. I have mine with the top of the plate aligned with the top of the fender.
Plate curves with the bumper. No big square sticking out.
Ultra low profile. Plate is flush with the bodywork.
Don't like it? Pull it off and reposition.
Going to a car show? Pull it off and wipe off the residue with goo gone. Tape back on later.

Cons:
None
