Just got a note that I need to attend the orientation meeting for this race because I "didn't race with PCA since 2015." Does the sound normal? Do you really need to sit through new racer orientation because you raced in another series for one season?

I was a rookie in 2015 and I did my orientation class at Sebring. Forgot his name but one of the guys in the class was a pro racer and even did a season in F1. Yup, he had to take the class and was cool about it.

It's in the rules somewhere. If you don't do 2 or 4??? races in a year (i.e. 1 or 2 weekends), you have to sit through the class again.
Was his name Maldonado? Cause then I totally get it!
I remember now - it was Justin Wilson. The funny thing about the class was that there were a few guys who had some race experience and when we all introduced ourselves they basically went on and on about what they had done and took the attitude of "I don't need to be here".
Justin went last and said something like, "I've driven sport cards, Indy cars, and did a little bit of F1. Hope to learn how PCA does things." He sat back and listened.
It made the other guys seem so douchey.

Make sure you go to the bathroom first. I thought it was going to be a 20-30 minute orientation and it was almost 2 hours. Basic stuff if you are experience but it is good to know PCA's interpretation of certain rules.
