Well in R8Talk I doubt you will get the opinion to buy a TTS.

As a previous owner of a 2010 R8 V8, I can tell you that the level of attention you get is quite overwhelming and you will get it wherever you go. That was one thing I found could be bothersome at times. Sometimes it was good, but not all the time. The car was fantastic to look at and the Drive was good but I didn't like the R tronic at all. But I am sure the 2017 drives much better. Sorry I can't offer any other comparison for you with the TTS since I have not yet driven one nor have I driven the Gen2 R8.

I traded my R8 for a 2015 7MT S which I subsequently traded for a 2016 GTS PDK. I was happy with both Porsches and found them far superior and fun to drive in comparison to the R8.

I do think about the R8 and in retrospect should have kept it and added the GTS since it was reliable and holds great value.

If you want a true drivers car I would go with the Porsche. If you like attention I would go with the R8.

If I were to trade my GTS now I would most likely get another Porsche likely the TT or TTS.

Let us know your opinions on the R8 vs TTS test drive.

Good Luck.

Since you are considering an R8, have you thought about the new NSX? Few out there, beautiful and very cutting edge hybrid cool.

2017 NSX sales so far DOA.....at $200K equipped - no way.

Good car....If it were priced in Z06/991S territory it would have a much better chance.

Discounting has already started.

Here's a typical build:

$24,500 in carbon fiber bits? No freakin way! $1300 for Alcantara headliner?? $6000 for red paint?

That's as ridiculous at Porsche! (Not the car for me, either)

RE: NSX

Easy to get up to 10% off MSRP. For Acura dealers, the NSX is like selling ice to an Eskimo in Alaska.
