I bet that some PO got into a pinch with a relay, needed one, and put this guy in instead as a stopgap measure. Change everything back to the way the lid says to, put in a relay that should be there. or leave it out. Good luck..

Sorry for resurrecting a year old thread, but there was little else in search when I looked. Can the chime be disabled? Does that relay do more than just chime --- can it just be removed or will that make other stuff not work? 1986 944...
