It's all similar but 911 does it better than Corvette.

I know right?! Long story short; I purchased the car in 2008 and sent it overseas. When I moved to US it was too complicated and expensive to bring the car back. I then sold it in 2013 with a good profit. She had 40k documented miles. Color is PTS Rallye Yellow D7, which was a 924 color in 1978.

Such a beauty! It breaks my heart and I didn't own her!

Even my fiance who knows nothing about cars can tell the difference between a 1978 911 and a 2008. The average person will say an older 911 "looks old", but they don't "get it."

We should be glad. I hate some of the hommage cars done recently. The original looks fantastic but the new editions looks nothing like the original. If you didn't put them next to each other and painted them in the same colour people wouldn't recognise them as being the hommage to the original. Yes I know I'm getting old but...

Three IMO terrible attempts to recreate the original look: BMW 2002, Honda NSX and Toyota Supra:

The NSX ones trying to cash in on the 80/90s retro nostalgia craze are especially funny. There's no resemblance at all beyond "mid-engined sports car."

The 911 is truly a timeless design and should never change.
