New Hampton roads 997 Owner, first Porsche
Greetings everyone, Just wanted to say hello from Hampton Roads, VA.
I just added what apears to be a well sorted 997.1 C2S cab in Carrara white over red extended leather. Combo is really striking, while balanced by the black dash and carpets. After several BMW's and Corvette's this is my first Porsche (except for wife's Cayenne), and am shocked by the rawness of the experience.
A few unique touches include the matching white wheels and extended red leather. It has the embossed texture, which I am still unsure if I like it or not. As soon as I hit the gas, that worry evaporates.
Sorry for the dirty car, just drove it back from Baltimore and put her in the garage before the snow storm.
Cheers!
Karl

Greetings from a former resident of the Hampton Roads area, and congrats on the new P-car!
Out of curiosity, how do you like your mats on the garage floor?
I had our floor epoxied (in a light beige) a few years ago, and they started showing some dark spots (where tires sit)
The mats would certainly cover them up and perhaps make for a cleaner overall appearance, but do you find that they bunch (for example, if you have to turn the wheel) or make for a tripping hazard when the cars are out?
Just curious
Thanks

I also had my garage floor epoxied (twice) - the first time it would separate in spots when hot tires sat on it so I had the builder redo. This time I'm taking no chances so I bought what looks like the same or similar mats from Groits to protect the floor. They have worked perfectly and have not bunched up at all. The edges lay down completely.

Thanks, and I agree on the white wheels. They were factory spec, and likely to be my first upgrade. If there are any local wheels available...
As for the mats, they do a really nice job keeping the epoxy floor intact without spots or separations. They do have a tendency to bunch if you turn the wheels while parked, so I make sure to pull straight into the garage. We also have a Bridge-it at the end of the driveway to help with the curbing.
