The modegrau / Fashion grey thread

I've seen a sample of Chalk at the dealership and under the bright lights there I initially mistook it for white. I'm slightly relived it's PTS. Otherwise I could have saved a bit of time and money. Still prefer Fashion Grey though… both as it's a little darker and the history of it.

No problem! BTW, here's something interesting from the 2016/2017 Porsche Driver's Selection catalog. The luggage comes in what must the current palette of colours, which includes the special colour Chalk (confirmed here again to be M9A)!! (Strangely not all the colour codes here are the same as what we've come to know for the corresponding paint codes, however, I've seen M9A elsewhere for Chalk fwiw.)

M9A should definitely be it then. Great investigative work as usual Daniel.

I have observed that for a given year, a color has a commercial code and a real color code.
The first one is on two digits and the second on three.
So, I assume that "chalk" has the commercial code 3H and the real code M9A.

Hi guys !
My hubby is restoring an old 944 and wants to have it resprayed when its done in Fashion Grey. He sent away for a tester of this colour but it is way to dark. We both love the lighter shade as shown on here. Can anyone give us the paint code please ?
In the UK by the way.

A good auto paint shop in the UK should be
able to get you the exact color formula for
that color & do a test sample for you. And
Daniel, the OP, can perhaps give you even
more information on this vintage 356 color
for you to communicate to your paint shop!

PS. I like your new 'handle' at Rennlist!
Let me put some color on it for you!
