[QUOTE=averynickt;13794563]Ok, ageless question, I have a 2013 4s coupe platinum silver and am thinking of adding the duck this off season. Wife says no, im on the fence. ]
Simply the fact that the thought of adding the duck means you are more than halfway there to deciding - yes.
On a widebody car, the duck adds visual interest and enhances the width from the rear view and lightens the sometimes "heavy appearing" side view and rear overhang.
Because it is so well integrated it adds an element of sportiness that can be enjoyed at any age without the afterthought tacked on look you find on other cars.
Another plus is not leaving the OEM active spoiler in the up position around town with it's unfinished look when deployed.

I like the duck.

My thoughts are, 1) the factory mechanically-deployed spoiler looks unfinished when in the "up" position on a white 991, 2) a duck removes the potential service point of the factory spoiler mechanism, and 3) the duck is more stylish than the factory spoiler when the factory spoiler is deployed. As a detail-oriented engineer, the decision was easy for me... XAT option...

I have thought about painting the plastic panels that are exposed when the spoiler is deployed in the body color so it would have a cleaner look. Might make a big difference on a white car.

add duck:http://suncoastparts.com/product/SKU991DUCK.html
Note: Now available individually. Comes with the rear spoiler only, must be painted to match your car. If your car came with the Sport Design front bumper, adding this spoiler completes the Sport Design package. Porsche only recommends using this wing for cars with the Sport Design Front Bumper. A genuine Porsche part, not a cheap replica.
Notes: "***" For Coupe models with sunroof, a new sunroof control module (which modifies sunroof settings) must be installed, dealer installation and activation will be required.
Note #2: For GTS models, the rear deck grille must be replaced to the standard version as shown. The Black GTS grilles must be omitted. The GTS kit shown here comes with the standard grille (at an additional cost), must also be painted to match.
Fits all 2012.5 to 2016 Carrera, 4, S, 4S Coupe or cabrio models (991 generation). Not compatible with targa models. Professional installation recommended, dealer activation required. Oversize packaging, allow 2-4 business day for processing.

I love the throwback and historical nature of the factory ducktail, so I spec'd it and have zero regrets. Looking over the generations of 911s, it's a rare factory option, and I think it pays a special homage to the 73 RS. I don't understand the comments about it being juvenile, but to each their own. The car should please the owner.
