Default Another tire option? Nexen?

Nexen N FERA SUR4? Anyone heard of this tire? According to tire rack, the measured tread width is the same as the 285 Re71r width. A cheaper option?

I recently used them on my Focus RS.... burned through them in back-to-back track days at Homestead-Miami Speedway but I blame that on the lack of front adjustable camber in the OEM suspension. As far as dry grip, I think it's comparable to RE-11s although they will squeal more and the sidewall is not as stiff as the Bridgestones. I also think they don't have a higher tolerance for internal temp/heat than the Bridgestones do. Mine were the N Fera Sur4 245/40-18" sizes.

Are you trying to improve corner exit by looking at a smaller than OE rear tire; gearing help?

i saw this and am curious too

i had one set of nexen tires (nx3000 sport road tire, now discontinued) on a dd bmw they were quite good and very cheap... grippy and quiet, but they would flat spot easily

nexen is a second tier korean brand after hkk and kmho...

No, just trying to bleed less money. I've had this car less than a year and I'm on my 5th set of tires....
