Ouch! Body shop recommendations in Kitchener Waterloo
We had a mishap today. Wife was backing up her q7 and crunch.
2001 Boxster S.
I had been parked in her blind spot in the middle of a 3 car wide driveway. I was parked there as I was going to go and put our lawn tractor on the lift and I had to get it by 3 cars. I was going to out the high lift blades on the mower deck to suck up leaves .
Went for a motorcycle ride instead.
Anyways looking for body shop recommendations in the kw area. Wife is going to take it in for estimates next week.
Maybe it's time to get the front bumper re sprayed too? Car had really nice paint until this morning . . . . .
Rear quarter panel driver side.
Driver side door.

damn that sucks! Burwell Auto body in London will be who I visit next...Porsche (and BMW/Benz/etc) certified and seem to be Porsche enthusiasts as well...

Any insights into what a porsche approved autobody shop means?
Can't anyone buy the proper parts if needed to facilitate the repair ?
The door handle is scuffed a little, not sure if I'll get them to fix or replace ? I think the air vent thing survived , it could use a respray .
Any point in trying to put it under insurance ?
Sad day. . . .

That really sucks.
I would recommend talking to Dave at Colors Collision in Kitchener. His shop is at 2 Sereda Rd.
I used him to spray by rear bumper a few years ago and he did an excellent job. He charged me substantially less than Mitek (likely the best known in town) and I'm convinced his work was just as good or better. He primarily works with Porsches and does excellent work at reasonable rates. I was given his name by Uli Furtmair.

A Porsche approved auto body shop means that the shop knows the proper procedures to repair a newer Porsche. I think it applied to major structure issues. That's how I remember it.
In your case any good body shop can repair your car.

That really sucks.
I used Mike Tikl at Mitek to fix the cowl and paint the bruised bumper on my 964 when I bought it early this year. Very good experience and excellent work. IIRC, he is the local authorized BMW and Mercedes body shop. I also heard good things about Colours but couldn't reach anyone there or get a return phone call.
Also used Koebels Car Star this summer to repair accident damage to my F150. they did an excellent Job as well.
Good luck.

Thanks RL'rs
My wife went to
Mitek - also recommended by my mechanic; gave my wife a pretty expensive quote, want to replace the door and the rear quarter.... 'official quote' to be emailed this afternoon.
Northdale Autobody - I've had experience with VW corrosion warranty on my 06 Jetta.... so-so - One quarter panel started bubbling again 24 months into the repair, they did fix it again under 'warranty', the rest of the repairs are holding up....
Koebel - waiting for quote by email
Colors Collision - closed. Not sure if closed closed, or closed due to some sort of construction, anyways my wife didn't get a quote....
Being a convertible, I'm not sure if it is a good idea to replace the quarter.... The quarter goes all the way under the door, and wonder about body rigidity if that part is placed.... It doesn't have a roof to help with rigidity....
There is a good possibility we are putting this through on my wife's q7 insurance...

Anyone telling you that the damage you have shown requires a new door and quarter is simply trying to gouge you and or your insurance company. The exterior quarter skin provides little to no structural support and its removal will not compromise your cars integrity in any way. You could remove 90% of a boxster's sheetmetal and it would still be more rigid than an early targa
