Well, now that you have posted side-by-side before and after pix, I guess the masking tape on the car does make it seem larger and a bit less clownish. Perhaps a spatula would help?

If you could make it so the Tron lines are completely indistinguishable from the actual color of the car - both day and night - I think that would be OK.
